Manufacturing of a Porta Storage™ System for Brooklyn Museum/Luce Study Center

Manufacturing of a Porta Storage™ System for Brooklyn Museum/Luce Study CenterBrooklyn Museum's Luce Study Center commissioned us for a custom storage system manufacturing project based on our comprehensive capabilities and quality services. These art accommodations utilized many of our processes, allowing the customer to have all of its needs met by one supplier, a convenience that is rare in the industry.

For this project, we trademarked an exclusive design that was provided to the customer for approval, then fabricated the system using our cutting, CNC machining, and welding capabilities, we also sourced all of the necessary hardware to compliment the product.

To construct the unit, we used pre-galvanized steel and aluminum components, with polyethylene and resin wheels. The system incorporated 56 panels, each with the ability to support 10 lbs. per square foot of art, a ceiling track for convenient movement, 56 sets of pre-drilled floor guides, and stops at both ends of travel. The system was finished with Tremec paint and dressed with 3,000 zinc plated hooks.

Once these processes were complete, we crated the system and coordinated delivery to the museum, installed all components of the product, and verified operation of each panel. The system was designed, manufactured, and installed within 4 months. The customer was extremely pleased with our work, from concept all the way to installation.
